How to Play & FAQ
What is RiddleCrypt?
RiddleCrypt is a logic puzzle game wrapped in a dungeon adventure. Each "room" of the dungeon contains a single puzzle. Solve the puzzle to open the door to the next room. The deeper you descend, the harder the puzzles become — from gentle warm-ups in the early chambers to expert-tier reasoning in the depths.
How does the 3-strike rule work?
Every wrong answer counts as one strike. After three strikes, the dungeon walls grind shut and your run ends. Your record — the deepest room you reached — is saved to the public leaderboard. You can start a new run any time, or spend a key to revive at the last room with one strike already used.
What kinds of puzzles will I encounter?
Four categories of puzzles, mixed randomly throughout your descent:
- Riddles — classic word puzzles with surprising answers
- Patterns — number, letter, or shape sequences to complete
- Math — arithmetic, algebra, and pure logic problems
- Word — anagrams, wordplay, and vocabulary challenges
Difficulty starts gently at room 1 (puzzles a curious child could solve) and ramps to expert level at room 100, where each puzzle demands multi-step reasoning or specialized knowledge.
Do I need to create an account?
No. RiddleCrypt is fully playable without signup. Your run is saved automatically in your browser, so you can return to the same dungeon later. Your name on the leaderboard is auto-generated to keep you anonymous.
What are keys for?
Keys 🗝 are the in-game currency. Spend one key for a hint when you're stuck, or one key to revive after running out of strikes. Earn keys for free by watching short video advertisements between rounds. Anonymous players can earn up to three keys per day. Premium pass holders enjoy unlimited keys plus an ad-free experience.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. RiddleCrypt is designed to work on phones, tablets, and desktops. The dungeon interface adapts gracefully to any screen size.
Where do the puzzles come from?
All puzzles are original, generated by advanced AI and curated by category and difficulty. The puzzle library contains nearly 2,000 puzzles across 100 difficulty tiers, with new batches added periodically. A separate daily challenge is generated fresh each day — visit the Daily Riddle page to try today's.
Is RiddleCrypt free?
Yes. The full game is free to play, supported by display advertising. For players who prefer no ads and unlimited hints, optional Premium subscriptions are available: $2.99/month or $19.99/year. Cryptocurrency is also accepted for the annual plan. See the Pricing page for full details.
